Grades 01, 02 and 06 are built on Red Giant Magic Bullet Looks, so you need Looks installed. Each grade comes with curves on top for the final touch.

  1. Add an adjustment layer above your footage.
  2. Apply a grade such as BD Grade 01.
  3. In Effect Controls, find the Looks effect and lower its Strength if the look is too heavy for your shot.
  4. Use the Curves in the preset to set your final brightness and contrast.

Match shots

One adjustment layer across a whole scene keeps the colour consistent from shot to shot. If one clip is darker than the rest, correct that clip on its own layer, underneath the grade.
